Frequently asked questions
- Which supermarket is cheapest for recipes in the UK this week?
- For 5–11 Oct 2026, Sainsbury's is cheapest for 23 of the 45 recipes we could call (Tesco 13, Aldi UK 7, Asda 1, Morrisons 1 and Ocado 0).
- Which supermarket wins most weeks?
- Over the 1 finished week on record: Aldi UK 1.
- How is the winner worked out?
- Each recipe is priced as written at every supermarket, for the same ingredients and quantities, using prices checked in the last 8 days. A recipe is called only when at least two supermarkets stock every ingredient, and the cheapest of those wins it; a recipe that can't be called counts for nobody. The store with the most recipes wins the week — level on recipes, the bigger total saving decides it. The count is redone daily and locked in when the week ends.
